The Qatari team demonstrated their dominance throughout the match, taking a four-goal lead of 14 to 10 in the first half and further extending their advantage in the second half, courtesy of a stellar performance by the players.

This triumph brings the Qatari team to the top of Group A, gathering six points after earlier wins against the Chinese and Indian teams with scores of 34 to 25 and 48 to 14, respectively. Their journey continues with an upcoming match against South Korea, followed by a concluding group-stage clash against Saudi.

In this fiercely contested competition, eleven Asian teams are competing for the desired berths in the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.

The teams are divided into two groups: Group A includes Qatar, Saudi Arabia, South Korea, the Emirates, India, and China, while Group B comprises Bahrain, Iran, Kuwait, Japan, and Kazakhstan. The top two teams from each group will secure spots in the semi-finals, which are set for the 26th of October. The victors of these semi-final matches will then advance to the final on the 28th of the same month, with the ticket to the Paris 2024 Olympic Games at stake.

Qatar, having previously qualified for the 2016 Rio Olympics in Brazil, is now aiming to secure their qualification for a second time, marking a significant milestone in Qatari handball history. The nation is no stranger to hosting these qualifiers, having organized them in 2015, 2019, and now in 2023.
