These mobile accommodations were going to be donated as part of the FIFA Worldcup 2022 legacy plans, however, in light of the Türkiye-Syria earthquake, the government in Doha made the announcement that it would donate these mobile homes to earthquake victims for shelter.
Emir of Qatar His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al Thani visited Türkiye on Sunday and is the first foreign leader to do so since last week's earthquake.
Qatar dispatched a rescue team from Lekhwiya-Qatar's internal security force- to earthquake-affected areas. Furthermore, the Emir of Qatar donated QAR 50 million ($14 million) to the earthquake victims as part of the Oun and Sanad campaign. Qatar also launched an airbridge to supply rescue teams, medical, and survival resources to earthquake-affected areas.
