Qatar has won membership in the Executive Board of the United Nations Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) for the period of 2023 to 2027.

Qatar received the highest percentage of votes in the Arab group during the elections that took place for the board on the sidelines of UNESCO's 42nd session of the General Conference in Paris. 

Qatar received 167 votes in the election results for Electoral Group B. 

As a member of UNESCO's Executive Board, Qatar will support international and regional efforts to strengthen and advance UNESCO's role in its field of work. 

Qatar will work alongside the organization to confront common global issues. 

The country will also work towards meeting the needs of all member states to fulfil the goals of the 2030 Sustainable Development Plan.

Qatar has always promoted education and culture as important factors that contribute to stability in the world and the Arab region.

UNESCO's Executive Board consists of 56 members and Qatar is now one of them.
