As the holy month of Ramadan approaches, Qatar’s Minister of Justice and Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs, HE Ibrahim bin Ali Al Mohannadi, has issued a circular outlining the official working hours for government entities and institutions across the country.

According to the circular, during Ramadan, civil servants will observe shortened workdays, spanning five hours from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm local time. Flexibility is also provided, allowing employees to arrive as late as 10:00 am, provided they complete the mandated five-hour work shift and fulfill their job responsibilities.

Additionally, a remote work system will be introduced, permitting up to 30% of employees to carry out their duties remotely. Priority will be given to Qatari mothers and individuals with disabilities, ensuring their work requirements are met without disruption.

For the health and education sectors, specific working hours and schedules will be determined by the Ministry of Public Health and the Ministry of Education and Higher Education, respectively, taking into account the nature of their operations and services.
