Expat Insider 2022
Expats from all over the world have been invited to participate in InterNations' annual Expat Insider poll since it began in 2014. One of the most comprehensive of its kind, the poll allows expats to express their individual experiences and ideas on life abroad by covering almost every area of the expat experience, from finances to making friends.
Responses from around 12,000 respondents representing 177 nationalities and residing in 181 countries or territories were compiled in the InterNations Expat Insider 2022 poll, which was published on Tuesday.
The study asks about how satisfied expats are with the standard of living, ease of relocation, working overseas, and personal finances in their individual home countries. The new Expat Essentials Index, which covers digital life, administrative topics, housing, and language, was included in the poll for the first time.
Four out of the five Gulf States, according to the report, place in the top ten for language, largely due to how simple it is to live there without knowing the language.
The ease of obtaining a visa, navigating local red tape, and creating a local bank account are among the administrative topics listed under the Admin Topics area, according to InterNations.
Government services can be accessed online, it's simple to get fast Internet at home, there are alternatives for cashless payments, and there are no restrictions on online access—all these topics are covered by Digital Life.
