Palestinian journalist Hossam Shabat was killed in an Israeli airstrike in northern Gaza on Monday, Mar. 24.
Shabat was a contributor for Al Jazeera Mubasher and he passed away when his car was hit in the eastern part of Beit Lahiya, according to witnesses.
Shabat was the second journalist killed in Gaza on Monday after Mohammad Mansour, a correspondent for Palestine Today, was killed in an attack on his house in Khan Younis.
Since the beginning of the war in Gaza on Oct. 7, 2023, 208 journalists have been killed.
On Monday, four individuals were killed in a strike in Nuseirat in central Gaza, two women were killed in a separate strike, and a man was killed in a shelling in Jabalia in northern Gaza.
