As Covid-19 cases has seen a surge in UAE and around the globe after the spread of the Omicron variant, the Abu Dhabi Emergency crisis and disasters committee has recently updated the guidelines people need to follow for hosting indoor and outdoor social events and family celebrations, specially as Christmas Holiday is followed by new years eve, to ensure that lives are saved and more cases are prevented.

When will the new covid-19 social gatherings regulations take effect?
The new regulations Abu-Dhabi has released will be effective on 27th-Dec-2021 and on forward.
What are the new Social gatherings regulations in UAE?
- Venues hosting social events, for example: funerals, wedding parties, family gatherings, will operate at max 60% occupancy.
- Max number of people at indoor events not over 50%.
- Outdoor events are allowed up to 150 people only.
- Gatherings at home to host only 30 people.
- All people attending any social event should show the green pass on Alhosn app, and present a negative PCR test that was received within the last 48 hours, as well as wear masks, and adhere to physical distancing protocols.
Abu Dhabi emergency, crisis and disasters committee will increase all the inspections and the monitoring to make sure that there is a low covid-19 infection rate in Abu Dhabi, and to make sure that the place is safe for all new year events.
