The person behind this idea is unknown, and this day is only a symbolic day. However, we think it’s a good idea and helps regain energy if it’s not abused.

Laziness can generally be divided into individual and social causes. There are a number of diseases that can cause laziness in individuals, for example, due to physical illness, such as hypothyroidism, or due to mental illness, such as depressive disorder.

Social laziness is also one of the problems that have appeared more and more these days with the spread of the Covid-19 pandemic in the world and its impact on various segments and professions. If this continues it can have many negative consequences on society.

What is laziness?

Everyone gets lazy sometimes, which means there are days when we are all unwilling to do something and make excuses for our laziness. If you don't show interest in your work and continually put it off and may not do it, you are a lazy person. Most researchers also believe that lethargy is a sign of laziness.

It should be noted that laziness can be a behavioral disorder that is one of the biggest obstacles to mental and behavioral progress, and it can be diagnosed from a psychological point of view and must be overcome, because laziness cannot be an individual problem only. It must also become an acute social issue that plays a crucial role in the development process of countries.

Sometimes we all feel that our mind wants to rest more, instead of going to work, we want more fun, etc. These feelings of desire should not cause laziness. Lazy people tend to feel tired all the time and go their days without work and activity.

Celebrate National Lazy day

In some countries, National Lazy Day is celebrated by holding a party. Colombia is one of the countries where laziness is celebrated.

National Lazy Day is believed to have originated in Colombia. It was celebrated for the first time in 1985. One day, Colombians realized that they were not getting enough rest and took to the streets explaining to the whole world that in addition to the right to freedom, the right to information, the right to choice, a person also has the right to laziness. It sounds unbelievable, but the truth is that since then, laziness has begun to invade other parts of the planet. This is not surprising. Who would be against a day of laziness and rest?

The citizens of Itajo, Colombia, take mattresses and blankets to the streets to lie down and celebrate International Sloth Day. Holding this event is an attempt to remind employees who have stressful jobs to put less pressure on themselves. The city is located in northwest Colombia and has a population of 200,000. A full-day celebration of idleness is held annually in Itajo.
