Qatar's ace high jumper Mutaz Essa Barshim missed the winning title but managed to take bronze medal at the 2023 World Athletics Championships in Budapest.

The Golden Falcon won the bronze medal with a 2.33M jump. This is Mutaz's fifth World Championship medal. He previously won three gold medals and a silver.
The 32-year-old Qatari champion failed three attempts at 2.36M and had to be content with a third-place finish.

Meanwhile, Italy's Gianmarco Tamberi, who shared the 2020 Tokyo Olympics gold with Mutaz, won the title with a 2.36M jump on countback.
Moreover, USA's JuVaughn Harrison cleared the height of 2.36M on his second attempt and took the silver medal.
