Morocco's Soufiane El Bakkali Wins Gold at Olympics

Morocco's steeplechase athlete Soufianne El Bakkali won a gold medal in the 3000m steeplechase final at the Paris Olympics on Wednesday.

El Bakkali won a gold medal at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics. In this year's Olympics final, the Moroccan athlete beat the American athlete Kenneth Rooks, who won a silver medal, and Kenya's Abraham Kibiwot, who won a bronze medal. 
The Moroccan athlete ran the season's best 8:06.05 to win the gold medal in his category. El Bakkali is the second Moroccan athlete to win two Olympic gold medals for his country. He has also won two gold medals at the past two world championships.
