Hamilton topped the second practice session on soft tyres with a lap time of 1m30.751s.

His teammate George Russell followed him second, despite Russell's car suffering a small fire break and scraping floors against the floors of the rundown.

Aston Martin's Fernando Alonso followed the Mercedes drivers in third, while his teammate Lance Stroll came in eighth.

Ferrari's Carlos Sainz Jr.  came in fourth and McLaren's Oscar Piastri came in fifth.

Sainz's teammate Charles Leclerc came in ninth as Stroll and Williams' Logan Sargeant blocked his path during the session.

Although Piastri came in the top ten, his teammate Lando Norris came in last as he aborted his qualifying sim lap.

Three-time world champion Max Verstappen came in sixth, while his teammate Sergio Perez came in tenth.

Another F1 driver who made it to the top ten was Haas' Nico Hülkenberg.

The first practice session had taken place earlier in the day and RB's Daniel Ricciardo had topped the session.

He was followed by Norris in second and Piastri in third, while Ricciardo's teammate Yuki Tsunoda came in fourth.

RB and McLaren's F1 drivers were able to enjoy a good practice session because they had opted for soft tyres.

Ricciardo came in twelfth in the second practice session, while Tsunoda came in fifteenth.

Although Mercedes set the pace for the Practice 2 session, a third practice session will take place on Mar. 1, followed by the Qualifying session on the same day.
