The Lyrid meteor shower will light up Qatar's skies on Tuesday, April 22.
The meteor shower will reach its peak activity on Tuesday evening and will continue until the early hours on Wednesday.
The meteor shower happens annually from mid-April to April 25; its peak falls on April 22.

Comet Thatcher is the source of the Lyrid meteor shower because Earth intersects its dust trail every April, leading the particles to collide with the atmosphere and producing visible flashes across the sky.
The public can capture the meteor shower on digital cameras and will get to see it best from dark remote areas.
