Queen Camilla Takes a Step Back Due to Health Concerns
However, Queen Camilla, 77, will miss the outdoor ceremonial welcome at Horse Guards Parade in London due to ongoing health concerns. The Queen has been dealing with lingering side effects from a chest infection, which has left her with "diminished reserves of energy."
Although she will miss part of the day, Camilla is expected to attend the lunch and participate in the later stages of the event, including joining the King and other royals for photographs before the state banquet. The Queen is also planning to attend the banquet itself, though she will take a brief rest before dinner while guests are welcomed.
Royal Guests and Events Planned for the Day
The Qatari Emir and his wife will join King Charles, Prince William, and Princess Kate for the ceremonial events, which include a carriage ride back to Buckingham Palace. The royals will also enjoy a lunch and attend an exhibition at the royal residence.
While Camilla takes time to rest, the royal family continues their duties, with Kate's participation marking a significant step in her return to public life.
