Trudeau will resign from these positions after the political party will choose their next leader.
During the conference, he said that Canada "deserves a real choice" at the next election. He also said that the country has to fight "internal battles" and he cannot be the best option on the ballot for Canadians.

Due to the lack of productivity in the Canadian parliament in the last few months, it will be prorogued until Monday, Mar. 24.
Trudeau explained that because of "internal battles" he will not be able to continue as the leader of the Liberal Party in the next election.
He also hopes that removing the "contention" around his leadership will help bring the temperature down and have the government focus on the various complicated issues Canadians are facing.
The prime minister emphasized that the leader of the Conservative Party Pierre Poilievre is "not the right one for Canadians".
He added, "We need an ambitious, optimistic view of the future....Pierre Poilievre is not offering that."
