"Jordan: A Story of Civilization" Exhibition Inaugurated at Katara
The Cultural Village Foundation (Katara), in cooperation with the Embassy of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan to the State of Qatar, the Ministry of Tourism, and the Tourism Promotion Authority in Jordan, organized the exhibition “Jordan: A Story of Civilization” which was inaugurated by Dr. Khalid bin Ibrahim Al-Sulaiti, Director General of the Cultural Village Foundation (Katara/ In the presence of His Excellency Mr. Zaid Mufleh Al-Lawzi, Ambassador of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, and a number of Their Excellencies Ambassadors and representatives of diplomatic missions.
On this occasion, Dr. Al-Sulaiti explained, in a speech, that such exhibitions come as an extension of cultural exchange and tourism promotion and are an opportunity to introduce Katara's visitors to Jordan's landmarks and ancient civilization, expressing Katara's constant keenness to cooperate with various embassies accredited to The state to achieve its mission of building bridges of communication between peoples.

In turn, the Ambassador of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan valued the joint cooperation between his country's embassy and Katara, wishing more cooperation and cultural exchange between Jordan and Qatar.
For his part, Prof. Dr. Fadi Balawi, Director General of the General Department of Antiquities in Jordan, said in a statement to Qatar News Agency (QNA), that this exhibition presents images of archaeological sites and heritage aspects in Jordan through very rare treasures, most of which are shown for the first time. It reflects the different civilizations that have passed through Jordan from ancient times until now, and it also reflects the distinction of Jordan with its civilizations and the creativity of man in it.
He stated that this exhibition was a celebration of the 76th Independence Day, and he thanked the State of Qatar and the Katara Cultural Village for hosting, which was distinguished, hoping that this would be the beginning of cooperation and building bridges of communication in the cultural and heritage aspect.
In this context, Mr. Basem Mahameed, Director of Museums in the Jordanian Antiquities Department, said that the exhibition includes a treasure trove of photographs affiliated with the Ministry of Tourism and the General Department of Antiquities in Jordan, which are being shown for the first time, pointing out that the exhibition tells the story of Jordanian civilization through photographs that illustrate For the visitor, how did Jordan contribute to the human cultural heritage.
He added, "Accordingly, we worked to highlight the most important contributions from prehistoric times to the modern era, starting with the Natufian civilization and the most important site in the pre-pottery Neolithic era through the statues of Ain Ghazal, which is the first stucco statues made by man in the natural size in the world, and then the early Bronze Age. Through the first integrated water dam in Jordan, and then the Ammonite civilization in Amman,” noting that the exhibition, through the arrangement and sequence of its paintings, transports the visitor through ancient historical eras that illustrate Jordan’s artistic and cultural contributions throughout the ages.
It is worth noting that the exhibition includes 28 photographs that tell many stories about the history of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, and the exhibition will continue until June 7.
