Japanese director Neo Sora wore a Palestinian keffiyeh at the 2024 Venice International Film Festival at the Venice Lido in Italy.

The director also wore a Palestinian flag sticker on his black jacket. Sora was at the 81st edition of the film festival for the photocall for his new film 'HappyEnd', which is participating in the festival's Orrizonti section.
The bold move has earned the Japanese director praise from netizens. This is not the first move that Sora has shown support for Palestine.
He has voiced his support for the Palestinians and raised awareness about their plight in Gaza because of the humanitarian crisis caused by the ongoing war.
Sora is the first celebrity to support Palestine at the ongoing Venice Film Festival. Celebrities have previously shown their support for the Palestinians in Gaza at other film festivals and award shows.
