The visa waiver procedure will include the following steps:
- The applicant must submit his or her passport and a passport registration application to any Japanese diplomatic mission, given that the passport is valid for more than six months.
- The Japanese diplomatic mission will return the passport with a visa waiver registration stamp to the applicant on the date following the application submission.
Qatari citizens who have passports with the visa waiver registration stamp will be able to enter Japan many times without the need to get a new visa to stay in Japan for a period that should not exceed 30 consecutive days during the registration validity period of three years or passport validity period if that is less than three years.
Qatari citizens who plan to stay in Japan for more than 30 consecutive days or for work purposes, then they will have to obtain a pre-entry visa.
If the holders of the registered passports receive new passports or there is a change in names for these holders, then they will have to register their new passports.
In case the application for the Japanese visa waiver is rejected, then the applicant should apply for a regular visa.
