Israel's army claims that it has killed the Hamas Nukhba commander who led the attack in the Netiv HaAsara community on Oct. 7, 2023, in an airstrike in Gaza City.

The Hamas commander Ahmed Fawzi Nasser Muhammad Wadiyya was among eight Hamas militants who were killed in a strike on a compound near the Al Ahli Hospital in Gaza on Tuesday, Sep. 3.

The Israeli army revealed that Wadiyya was a commander of a Nukhba force company in the group's Daraj-Tuffah Battalion. They also said that Wadiyya raided Netiv Haasara using a paraglider.

According to the military, seven militants were also part of the same battalion. The UN Security Council will convene on Wednesday, Sep. 4 to discuss the hostages from the Oct. 7 attack, after the recent death of six more hostages.
