The draw for the AFC U23 Asian Cup Qatar 2024 Qualifiers was finalized at the AFC House in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia as the qualifiers will run from September 4th to 12th in 2023.
The qualifiers groups are:
- Group A qualifiers will include teams from Jordan, Syria, Oman, and Brunei.
- Group B will include teams from the host country Qatar, Korean Republic, Myanmar, and Kyrgyzstan.
- Group C will have Vietnam, Singapore, Yemen, and Guam playing against each other.
- Group D will have the 2016 winners Japan as well as Bahrain, Palestine, and Pakistan.
- Group E will include the 2018 winners Uzbekistan competing with Iran, China, Hong Kong, and Afghanistan.
- Group F will have 2013 champions Iraq alongside Kuwait, Timor-Leste, and Macau
- Group G will include UAE, India, Maldives, and China.
- Group H will have Thailand, Malaysia, Bangladesh, and the Philippines.
- Group I include Australia, Tajikistan, Laos and DPR Korea.
- Group J will have 2022 champions Saudi Arabia alongside Cambodia, Lebanon, and Mongolia.
- Group K is the only group to have 3 teams and will include Turkmenistan, Indonesia, and Taipei.
The 2024 tournament will see Qatar's 5th appearance for the U23 tournament after their best performance in 2018 by securing third place.
The tournament will run from January 12th to February 10th, 2024 and its finals will take place from April 15 to May 3, 2024.
The tournament will take place in eight stadiums in Qatar, six of which hosted the FIFA Qatar 2022 World Cup.
The AFC Asian Cup Qatar 2023 Logo was revealed on May 11th at Katara Opera House.
