The purpose of the shutdown is to allow for major upgrades and renovations, which will be completed in stages so that outpatient clinics and operating rooms can continue to operate throughout the initial phase.
To guarantee continuous medical care, inpatients will be temporarily transferred to the Medical Care and Research Centre and Aisha Al Attiyah Hospital.
The hospital's infrastructure will be further modernized during the closure, and improved safety and fire prevention systems will be put in place.
