"heavy smoke seen at the site is due to the nature of the plastic material"

Teams from Dubai Civil Defence carried out a safe evacuation of the factory, and confirmed there were no injuries.

Earlier in July, a fire caused by an explosion on a ship at Dubai’s Jebel Ali Port was brought under control.

The port is the Middle East's largest transshipment hub. DMO Director-General Mona Al Marri told Al Arabiya television channel that fire originated from a container holding flammable material. However, Dubai Police told the channel that it might be caused by “friction or high temperatures” during hot summer months.
