'Wicked: Part 2' is set to release in theaters on Friday, Nov. 21, 2025, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Both the first and second films were filmed simultaneously, according to director Jon M. Chu. It was initially supposed to be one movie, but they were divided into two parts to allow an in-depth exploration of the story.
The executive producer of the first film Stephen Schwartz ensured that there will be two new songs in the sequel, which were not featured in the Broadway production.
Schwartz was the composer for the original Broadway 'Wicked' production.
The sequel will be Act 2 from the Broadway production; it will pick up from where the first film concluded.
