Egypt's Ministry of Foreign Affairs supported on Sunday French President Emmanuel Macaron's call to halt exports of military weapons to Israel, which are intended to be used in the ongoing war in Gaza.
The Egyptian foreign ministry referred to the violations of international humanitarian law committed by the Israeli army in the Gaza Strip and Lebanon in its statement supporting the call to stop arms exports to Israel.
Egypt's foreign ministry explained that arms sales need to be halted because they have led to the death of tens of thousands of Palestinian civilians including many women and children.
The foreign ministry called other countries to support Macaron's call and emphasized the need to implement an immediate ceasefire in Gaza and Lebanon.
Not only is Macaron calling for a halt to arms sales to Israel, the country is also supporting a two-state solution, allowing Palestinians to establish a sovereign Palestinian state.
