Dubai Municipality has announced that electric scooters are now banned in public parks. In a post on Twitter, the authority stated the action is being taken to avoid accidents.

The post also issued a reminder that motorbikes are not allowed, and the maximum speed limit for cyclists is 15 km.

These electric motor-powered scooters are widely regarded as an environmentally friendly mode of transport, particularly with regards to ‘first and last mile’ solutions. If the trial is successful, the use of e-scooters in Dubai helps to ease congestion on the roads.
