The Qatar Satellite Company "Es'hailSat" is a communications satellite operator headquartered in Doha, Qatar. Es'hailSat was established in 2010 with the primary objective of managing and developing the Qatari presence in the space field. It provides its customers from channels, companies, and governments in the Middle East and North Africa and beyond, with high-quality and advanced independent broadcasting services.
In pursuit of the company to be one of the satellite operators and one of the best companies in providing global services, Es’hailSat started working on the first satellite, Es’hail-1, at the distinct orbital location of 25.5° East in 2013 to start supporting the service of the leading broadcasting companies in the region, including a group of beIN Media and Al Jazeera Media Network. The company launched its second satellite, Es’hail-2, in November 2018, and Es’hail-2 entered commercial service in March 2019 from its orbital position of 26° East.
With its ability to transmit in the Ka and Ku frequencies at the orbital position of 25.5 and 26 degrees East, Es'hailSat is able to provide the region with the most advanced and complex satellite services that include broadcasting, telecommunication, information technology, and broadband services.
Es'hailSat will continue to implement its plan through new satellites in the main communication sites to provide the best services that are characterized by flexibility and reliability to its customers in the region. The company also relies on the idea of a wide geographical coverage at the global level by establishing agreements with other leading companies at the regional and international levels.
Since its establishment, the Qatar Satellite Company, Es'hailSat, has emphasized the building and development of its staff. In 2013, four Es’hailSat engineers graduated from an intensive 24-month training program in satellite management at Space Systems Loral, which built the first Qatari satellite, Es’hail-1.
Es’hailSat continued to build knowledge by providing a similar training program for Qatari engineers responsible for designing and manufacturing the second satellite, Es’hail-2, which was launched by the Mitsubishi Electric Company “Melco” for the manufacture of satellites in Japan, was launched on November 15 of the year 2018 AD in cooperation with the American SpaceX from Cape Canaveral in the United States of America.
In addition, the company sponsored a number of Qatari students by sending them to reputable universities to obtain degrees in the field of engineering specializing in satellite communications. These steps are part of the company's program to develop its core expertise in space technology and develop future leaders.
