The films will be screened from Thursday, Oct. 10 to Saturday, Oct. 12 at the Museum of Islamic Art (MIA) auditorium. Entry to the event is free, but interested individuals need to reserve their tickets.
Thursday, Oct. 10
Tala Hadid's 'House in the Fields' will be screened at 7:00 p.m. Set in the High Atlas Mountains, it provides an intimate look into the daily lives of an isolated Amazigh (Berber) community, focusing on two sisters at different stages of life—one preparing for marriage, the other dreaming of becoming a lawyer. Through poetic cinematography, the film captures the intersection of tradition and modernity, revealing the rhythms of rural life and the challenges faced by women in this remote region.

Ismael Ferroukhi's 2020 'Mica' will be screened at 7:00 p.m. The film follows the story of Mica, a young boy from the slums of Casablanca who gets a job as a handyman at a posh tennis club. There, he befriends Sophia, a former tennis champion who recognizes his potential and introduces him to the world of tennis. As Mica navigates this new environment, the film explores themes of class disparity, opportunity, and hope, showcasing the boy's resilience and determination to rise above his circumstances.
Saturday, Oct. 12
Adnane Baraka's 2022 'Fragments from Heaven' will be shown at 7:00 p.m. The film follows two central figures: a nomad who searches for meteorite fragments in hopes of changing his family's fortune, and a scientist who studies these celestial rocks to uncover secrets of the universe. Blending science, spirituality, and survival, the documentary offers a poetic meditation on humanity's relationship with the cosmos and the deep connections between the earth and the heavens.
