Doha Film Institute is hosting the 'Watching the Classics' series yet again with Professor Richard Peña from Monday, Apr. 29.

Individuals who wish to apply for the first session of the online programme can do so at the institute's official website.
The first session will feature the 1974 thriller film 'Martha'.
'Watching the Classics' is a nine-part lecture series online, which will run until January 2025 and will feature classics from the 1970s and 1980s
Other films that will be covered in this online series are:
- May 27: 'The Mouth Agape'
- Jul. 1: 'Jaws'
- Jul. 29: 'Sholay'
- Aug. 26: 'The Wind'
- Sep. 30: 'Yellow Earth'
- Oct. 28: 'Mala Noche'
- Nov. 25: 'Little Vera'
- January 2025: 'Sweetie'
The online programme will provide cinephiles and filmmakers insight into the film history of the 1970s and the 1980s.
Professor Peña will highlight each film's cinematic, cultural, economic, social, and political context.
The professor will also highlight the technical and artistic decisions made for each film in the programme.
The fee to attend each lecture is QAR 50 per person and lectures will be accessible on Zoom Webinar.
