Meteor Shower Details

Dr. Bashir Marzouk, an astronomical expert at QCH, explains that the Delta Draconid meteor shower is visible annually from mid-July to August 23. This year, it will reach its peak on July 29-30, with up to 20 meteors per hour expected to streak across the sky.

Best Viewing Tips

Marzouk advises that no special equipment is needed to enjoy the show. Residents can view the meteors with the naked eye by finding a dark spot away from city lights. The best time to catch the shower will be from midnight until dawn, looking towards the southeastern horizon.
