The Portuguese Federation chose the Samaria Hotel as the headquarters of the team during the tournament period, provided that it trains at the Al Shahaniya Sports Club stadium.

Portugal will meet South Korea for the second time in the World Cup after their first meeting in the 2002 World Cup, which was hosted by South Korea in partnership with Japan, and South Korea at the time caused the Portuguese team to be eliminated early after beating it 1-0 in the final round of the group stage, to occupy Portugal Third place with 3 points, which prevented him from qualifying for the second round.

In the last edition that was held in Russia in 2018, the Portuguese team could not go far in the World Cup because of Uruguay, after the 16th round witnessed a clash between Portugal and Uruguay, which ended in the interest of Uruguay with a score of (1/2), to send Portugal out of the tournament again.
