This landmark decision, confirmed by both the Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile (FIA) and Formula One Group, marks Cadillac's inaugural entry into F1 and the first addition of a new team since Haas in 2016.

The approval follows comprehensive sporting, technical, and commercial evaluations. Cadillac's entry is in partnership with TWG Motorsports, a division of TWG Global Holdings, LLC. The team will initially utilize Ferrari power units and gearboxes, with plans to develop GM's engines by the end of the decade.

Graeme Lowdon, a seasoned motorsport executive, has been appointed as the team principal. The team is establishing operational bases in Silverstone, England, and Indiana, USA, focusing on aerodynamics, chassis development, and vehicle dynamics simulation.

The driver lineup is yet to be finalized, but the team has expressed interest in experienced drivers like Sergio Perez and Valtteri Bottas, as well as American talents such as IndyCar driver Colton Herta. This move aligns with Cadillac's aim to bolster American representation in the sport.

Mark Reuss, President of General Motors, expressed enthusiasm about Cadillac's participation, highlighting the brand's commitment to innovation and performance on a global platform.

The inclusion of Cadillac is expected to invigorate the F1 landscape, introducing fresh competition and expanding the grid to 22 cars. This development is anticipated to enhance the sport's appeal, particularly in the American market, and reflects the dynamic evolution of Formula One.
