Beware: Five Violations While Attending the World Cup in Qatar
Lawyers warned against complacency in following the regulatory procedures, regulations and decisions related to the World Cup, stressing that violating the instructions issued by the competent authorities in the country regarding the movement of vehicles, traffic, and places designated for games or exploiting FIFA’s intellectual property rights will expose them to legal punishment in accordance with Law No. 10 of 2021 related to the measures to host the Cup. World 2022, which amounts to severe penalties of imprisonment, confiscation, fines, and compensation.

1- Use, record, reproduce, imitate, or modify any of the Intellectual Property Rights of FIFA.
2- The use of tickets for advertising purposes or for holding lotteries, competitions, games, bets, and advertising procedures and the inclusion of the cost of tickets in the list of tourism, accommodation, and other services, without the written consent of FIFA.
3- Broadcast a public event without a license from FIFA, and issue, sell, redistribute or exchange tickets without a license.
4- Providing services in the field of technology without a license, and services for organizing the reception of the public, organizing tourist trips, and promoting products used in carrying out activities for the benefit of FIFA.
5 - It is not permissible to advertise or promote in any other way in the premises of activities or the commercial area subject to control during the period of the tournament except with the approval of FIFA or its authorized representative.
Lawyer Abdullah Al-Mutawa said that the State of Qatar has enacted legislation and laws that make the World Cup safe with the highest standards, guided by international best practices, and among these laws is Law No. (10) of 2021 regarding measures to host the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022.
He added: This law includes many deterrent penalties for those who violate its provisions, as the law stipulates in articles 38 to 42 a group of penalties starting from a fine of 250,000 Qatari riyals, and may reach 500,000 Qatari riyals, or to a penalty of imprisonment, and that According to the type of violation.
For his part, Lawyer Abdul Rahman Al-Jufairi, former Secretary-General of the Shura Council, stated that each organizing country for the World Cup sets organized rules like what happened in previous tournaments, and from this standpoint, Qatar has taken specific organizational measures, whether for venues, organizational aspects, services, and matches, noting that the courts of Qatar established a special circuit for the World Cup.
In turn, lawyer Suha Al-Mohannadi called on the public to familiarize themselves with all the arrangements for the tournament and to follow the instructions related to roads, traffic, services, and service procedures in general.
She also urged all the various authorities to issue introductory brochures and guiding posters related to the laws of the World Cup and the organizational procedures followed and distribute them to the guests coming through the country's ports by land, sea, and air.
