Awqaf Chooses 111 Mosques for I'tikaf During Last 10 Days of Ramadan

The Qatari Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs has allocated 111 mosques in various regions of the country, for performing i'tikaf during the last ten days of the Holy Month of Ramadan for the year 1444 AH.

I'tikaf is an Islamic practice of secluding oneself during the final 10 days of Ramadan in a mosque for men or at home for women with devoting oneself to ibadah during these days.
The Ministry of Endowments stipulated that the age of the person in retreat should not be less than 18 years, or that the guardian be accompanied.
The Qatari Awqaf stressed the importance of adhering to the guidelines of the personal hygiene and the cleanliness of the mosques.

The ministry also asked the worshippers not to hang clothes on the walls or mosque furniture and should also not sleep or eat in undesignated places.
