The Gulf state, which is considered a pioneer in hosting sports tournaments and events in the Gulf, regionally and internationally, won the world's admiration thanks to the academy, which was established in 2004 with the aim of discovering, attracting and nurturing sports talents.

The Qatari Academy has set a vision based on making it a reference in sports excellence in the world by 2020, which it succeeded in before that date, in order to improve sports performance through high-level training and teaching of sports sciences, and it also provides world-renowned sports programs and facilities.

It plays a leading role in supporting the requirements of the 2022 World Cup by developing players and establishing the academy's position in the Qatari community as the destination for sports talent.

It is the destination of the world's most prominent clubs and players for setting up winter camps in light of the ideal climatic conditions that Doha enjoys in the winter, as well as being a favorite destination for the stars of the round witch and other games for recovery, treatment and sports rehabilitation.

The great success of the Qatar national football team, which was crowned for the first time in its history as a champion of the AFC Asian Cup in early February 2019, shed light on the Sports Excellence Academy in Qatar, and how it succeeded in graduating Qatari athletes who are able to shine continentally and internationally, like Mutaz Barshim, the world champion In the high jump competition.

In 2003, the foundation stone for the Sports City project was laid, to build an academy and high-level sports stadiums, capable of hosting events, competitions and tournaments at various levels; Arab, Asian and International.

The Aspire Academy was opened in 2004, with the participation of a group of world sports legends, led by Argentine Diego Maradona, Brazilian Pele, and Moroccan runners Said Aouita and Hisham El Guerrouj, among others.

In 2006, Doha hosted the Asian Games, which is the second-largest gathering of people for a variety of games in the world after the Olympics, and then opened "Aspetar" one year later, to be the first hospital specializing in sports medicine and orthopedics in the Gulf region.

The "Asyad" was a real step for Qatar's sports vision, which was the establishment of an academy to prepare the next generation of athletes (Aspire), an integrated sports hospital that provides athletes from all over the world with high-level medical treatment services (Aspetar), and an organization to manage sports facilities and events according to the highest international standards (Aspire Logistics).
