China's chances in the Asian Cup hang in the balance after a 1-0 loss to Qatar. Tajikistan's win over Lebanon pushed China to third place in Group A.

Qatar secured three wins in three games. China must now wait to see if they qualify for the last 16 as one of the four best third-placed teams. Qatar's coach made nine changes after securing a spot in the knockout rounds and China, unable to score in their three games, faces uncertainty in advancing.

China missed key opportunities in the first half. Qatar's goalkeeper changes didn't impede their victory and Hassan Al-Haydos scored the winning goal in the 66th minute, securing Qatar's perfect group stage.

Despite a late attempt by China to equalize, the linesman ruled the ball had gone out of play. China's team now anxiously awaits qualification results.
