However, fans are left confused about how the Indian actor is connected to the field of AI.
In 2023, Kapoor won a landmark case on AI in India. The Delhi High Court gave out an order stopping the misuse of the Bollywood actor's name, image, voice, and other attributes such as his use of the phrase 'jhakaas'.
The order was passed on various websites and platforms based on the actor's lawsuit, which alleged unauthorized exploitation of his personality and celebrity rights for commercial use.
Kapoor said about winning the case in an interview with Variety, "It’s not only for me. Today, I’m there to protect myself, but when I’m not there, the family should have the right to protect my [personality] and gain from it in future. My intention is not to interfere with anyone’s freedom of expression or to penalise anyone."
He also said, "My intent was to seek protection of my personality rights and prevent any misuse for commercial gains, particularly in the current scenario with rapid changes in technology and tools like artificial intelligence."
In addition to being included in the list, Kapoor was also featured on the TIME magazine's cover alongside other influential figures.
