4 Planets Approaching the Moon in The Sky of Qatar in October
The Qatari Calendar House announced that four of the planets of our solar system (Saturn, Jupiter, Mars, and Mercury) will meet the moon in the sky of the State of Qatar during the current month of October, where the residents of the State of Qatar can see and observe Saturn, Jupiter, and Mars in the evening sky, while they can observe and see the planet Mercury in the dawn sky.
Dr. Bashir Marzouk, an astronomer expert at the Qatari Calendar House, said, "On the evening of Wednesday, 9 Rabi' al-Awwal 1444 AH, corresponding to October 5, 2022, the planet with wonderful rings (Saturn) will be located at an angular distance of four degrees of arc north of the center of the moon of the month of Rabi` al-Awwal.
The residents of the State of Qatar will be able to observe and see the moon and Saturn together with the naked eye above the southeast horizon of the sky of the State of Qatar, from after sunset at 5:17 pm until before the set of Saturn at 1:33 am the next day Doha local time.
On the evening of Saturday 12 Rabi’ al-Awwal 1444 AH corresponding to October 8, 2022, the giant of the solar system / Jupiter / will be at an angular distance of two degrees north of the center of the moon, the residents of the State of Qatar can observe and see the moon and Jupiter together with the naked eye towards the eastern horizon of the sky State of Qatar from after sunset time, at 5:14 pm until before the set of Jupiter at 4:35 am the next day, Doha local time.
Dr. Bashir Marzouk added that on the evening of Friday, Rabi’ al-Awwal 18, 1444 AH, corresponding to October 14, 2022, the red planet Mars will meet the moon, as Mars will be at an angular distance of approximately 3.6 degrees arc south of the center of the moon.
Residents of the State of Qatar will be able to observe and see Mars and the moon together with the naked eye above the eastern horizon after the date of Mars rise at 8:45 pm on Friday, and until before sunrise on Saturday at 5:35 am Doha local time.
And at dawn on Monday 28 Rabi’ al-Awwal 1444 AH corresponding to October 24, 2022, the smallest planet of the solar system (Mercury) will meet the waning crescent of the month of Rabi’ al-Awwal in the sky of Qatar, and they can be seen together with the naked eye towards the eastern horizon after the time of Mercury’s rise at one o’clock. 4:52 am until before sunrise Monday at 5:37 am Doha local time.
The importance of these astronomical phenomena lies in the fact that they are a good opportunity to enjoy seeing and monitoring the coupling of the planets of our solar system with the Moon at the announced times. In addition, they confirm the accuracy of the astronomical calculations used in calculating the orbits of the movement of planets and stars.
